Chicago Botanic Garden to Present 5th Annual Art Festival

The 5th annual Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, IL, will return Saturday, July 4th through Sunday, July 5th. If you’re a Chicago Botanic Garden member, you can enjoy a special preview 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, July 3.
Among the throngs of art festivals in the Midwest, this show is clearly offers the most outstanding combination of organic and manmade artistry. “The Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival offers attendees a unique way to experience art amongst 385 acres of 26 breathtaking display gardens and four natural areas situated on nine islands,” says Amy Amdur, president of Amdur Productions, the festival’s facilitator. “The festival is located on the Esplanade of the Chicago Botanic Garden and all festival artwork embodies a botanic theme.”
Open to the public, the Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival will showcase the work of 95-juried artists from around the world in a variety of mediums, including photography, paintings, ceramics, stone, metal, fiber, wood, jewelry and more. In addition to the artwork available for purchase, attendees will be able to interact with artists through demonstrations and booth chats. Young artists also are encouraged to create their own botanical-themed art at the Family Drop-in Activities tent.
Along with enjoying great art amongst a picturesque backdrop, attendees will enjoy musical performances by cover band Cirrus Falcon. Lite fare and beverages will be available at the Garden View Café tent. Guests can also enjoy a full menu at the main Garden View Café, which provides customers with a fresh menu featuring local, sustainably-produced, seasonal ingredients.
Among the treasures of the Forest Preserves of Cook County, Chicago Botanic Garden is a 385-acre living plant museum featuring 26 distinct gardens and four natural areas. With events, programs and activities for all ages, the Garden is open every day of the year.
The Garden is the 12th largest tourist attraction in Chicago and is the area’s sixth largest cultural institution.
