On July 30, the Chicago Human Rhythm Project College of DuPage Foundation is set to host “MAC Motown: Signed, Sealed and Delivered,” to celebrate and benefit the programs of the McAninch Arts Center (MAC), Sept. 12 at the MAC, 425 Fawell Blvd. Honored guest and COD alumnus, Jim Belushi will be on hand for the official dedication of the Belushi Performance Hall following the concert.
At the heart of the evening is a 7:30 p.m. performance of classic hits featuring the Motown Experience, an all-star lineup of world class vocalists drawn from the ranks of the legendary Motown groups including The Miracles, The Capitols and The Temptations. The group, backed by the Motown Band and New Philharmonic, under the direction of Maestro Kirk Muspratt, will perform hits that include those made famous by The Temptations (“Get Ready”), the Miracles (“Tears of a Clown”), The Jackson 5 (“ABC”) and more.
The Motown Experience is comprised of Miracles’ Dave Finley; George Wilson, former member of The Capitols; and former members of the Temptations, Charles Franklin and Doug Gaddy.
VIP tickets for the evening are $125 and include a 6 p.m. cocktail and hors d’oeurves reception and pre-show meet and greet with Jim Belushi, premier seating for the 7:30 p.m. concert, and post-show VIP toast and sweets reception following the official unveiling of the Belushi Hall plaques above the doors to the MAC’s 800 seat main theater. Concert-only tickets are $65, and include a “Cookies with Kirk” champagne reception in the lobby.
Before the performance all attendees will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win a selection of exciting prizes including a New Philharmonic “Up Close On Stage” experience for two to sit on the stage during the second half of New Philharmonic’s Baird & Berloiz concert on Nov. 14 or 15 paired with a Hilton Lisle overnight package and a host of luxury and entertainment packages.
US Bank is a Gold Sponsor of this event. Proceeds support the MAC General Fund, New Philharmonic Fund and the Belushi Artist-in Residence Fund.
