Young Thespians to Hone Skills in Light Opera Works' 2016 Teen Production, My Fair Lady
Clef Notes Chicagoland Journal for the Arts
Is your budding teen thespian in search of a local production by which to hone their craft? Light Opera Works is currently taking applications for their summer teen production of My Fair Lady.
Each role in the production will be individually cast based on auditions. Teens 13 to 18 will present the beloved Broadway classic with professional sets, costumes, sound and lighting on the same stage as the Light Opera Works adult production of the same musical.
Director/choreographer Caryn Ott Hillman is on tap to help the production. The production team will also be bolstered by the talents of musical director Christopher Richard and stage manager Anya Plotkin. All three are veterans of previous Light Opera Works youth productions of South Pacific and Fiddler On The Roof.
Rehearsals for My Fair Lady will take place June 11 through 27, at the Light Opera Works rehearsal center in Wilmette. There will be a free public performance of the production on Thursday, June 30, at 7:30 p.m. at Cahn Auditorium, 600 Emerson in Evanston.
