The unique tribute concert, I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues: A Salute to Ella, Judy & Patsy, honors three amazing female artists who changed America's musical landscape forever. The single-date concert takes place Sunday, February 28 at 3 p.m. at Paramount Theatre in Aurora.
I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues: A Salute to Ella, Judy & Patsy pays homage to three indomitable spirits of song, weaving their diverse voices into an inspiring portrait of America's musical heritage. The production unites a trio of stellar songstresses: Karen Marie Richardson (Off Broadway: Sleep No More, Tour: Queenie Pie), who effortlessly emits the sweet and sultry swing of jazz great Ella Fitzgerald; Angela Ingersoll (Chicago: Jeff Award nominations The Mistress Cycle, The Secret Garden), who hauntingly captures the emotional power of popular icon Judy Garland; and Katie Deal (National tours: Today, Tomorrow, & Forever: A Tribute to Patsy Cline, A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline), who soulfully embodies the tender heartache of country legend Patsy Cline. The evening features a bounty of beloved tunes including "Cry Me a River," "The Man That Got Away," "Crazy" and many more.
