This spring, Steppenwolf’s LookOut Series and Mark Cortale will present Broadway luminary Patti LuPone with Seth Rudetsky as pianist and host. The one-night-only event is slated for Monday, March 5, 2018 with performances at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Steppenwolf’s Downstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted).
Two-time Tony and Grammy award winner Patti LuPone performs at Steppenwolf for one night only alongside Sirius XM Radio host and creator/star of Broadway's Disaster! Seth Rudetsky as pianist and host. This unscripted evening will be a seamless mix of intimate, behind-the-scenes stories of Ms. LuPone’s career through insightful, funny and revealing questions posed by Rudetsky.
A legendary actress and singer, Ms. LuPone has earned seven Tony nominations over the course of her career. The spontaneous evening of laughs and show-stopping songs is not to be missed.
Patti LuPone last appeared in Chicago in the world premiere production of the musical War Paint, which she went on to star in on Broadway earning Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance as cosmetics pioneer Helena Rubinstein. A two-time Tony Award winner for her performances in Evita and Gypsy, her NY stage credits include: Shows for Days; The Seven Deadly Sins (NY City Ballet); Company (NY Philharmonic); Woman on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle Award nominations); and Sweeney Todd (Tony, Drama Desk, OCC nominations), among a host of other notable accolades. Numerous film credits include Cliffs of Freedom (upcoming) and The Comedian, Parker, Union Square This fall Ms. LuPone will return to the West End stage in director Marianne Elliott’s new production of the Stephen Sondheim-George Furth musical Company.

Member Pre-Sale begins Friday, February 2 at 11am. Anytime Black Card members and Holiday Card members can use a credit on a $79 seat in the balcony, but no other member credits can be redeemed. Rush is full priced, and $15 for students.
LookOut is Steppenwolf’s performance series that presents the work of artists and companies across genre and form, emerging artists and performance legends, quintessential Chicago companies and young aspiring ensembles, familiar Steppenwolf faces and friends new to the company. Steppenwolf Red Card and Black Card Members may use credits towards any LookOut programming. The LookOut Series is presented year-round and announced on an ongoing basis.
